Facebook Messenger for Windows is the official chat application for Facebook that enables you to chat right from your desktop without opening Facebook in your browser. It allows you to chat with your Facebook friends using your desktop in a similar fashion like other popular messengers such as Yahoo! AIM and MSN messengers.

Facebook messenger for Windows lets you communicate with your Facebook friends, gives you access to your message notifications and feeds without having to be logged on to Facebook. Remember you have to install the Java Runtime Environment in order for it to function.

The interface of Facebook messenger is quite clear and divided into two separate windows. One if for contacts and feeds and the other opens chat window. You will also find a notifier which will notify you about new comments, photo tags and more as soon as they happen.
